I’ve been in love with children’s books since forever. Think Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh and the Magic Faraway Tree. It's pretty safe to say, I never really grew out of it (and didn’t want to).
At university, I wrote an entire history dissertation about animation and cartoons during WWII. Which sounds very serious, but was mostly an excellent excuse to spend hours analysing drawings and getting to call it “research.”
These days, life is wonderfully busy and a little bit chaotic. I’m a parent to three brilliant, imaginative children, and I share my studio with a completely ridiculous red cockapoo who has absolutely no concept of personal space.
My work is fueled by a big inner child, a love of playful storytelling, and a lot of tea! I firmly believe that the best ideas usually arrive at the most inconvenient moments (like bedtime, dinner time, or when I’ve finally sat down).
If it feels a little bit mischievous, slightly chaotic, and full of tiny, joyful details… that’s very much on purpose.
